The Coach
Doug might not be the type of person you immediately associate with a leader. Laughter comes quicker to him than commands, but behind the easy smile lies the heart of a man driven to help others achieve their goals.

When Doug’s children were young, they wanted to play soccer, but unless they found another coach, there were no more spots. Without a second thought, Doug rolled up his sleeves, jumped in and volunteered to coach soccer for the first time. “We sure didn’t have a winning season,” Doug says, “but being able to step in and help my kids achieve this little goal in life was a chance to lead by example—an opportunity you don’t often get.”

The Mentor
Doug and his wife, Mary Ann, taught their children how important it is to have goals in life as well as the right mentor to help achieve them. He volunteered his time as a high school basketball coach and still mentors students on the power of goal setting and perseverance. Doug credits coaches, teachers and even Army superiors with teaching him lessons that have shaped his own success today, and he tries to do the same for others.
After college, Doug entered the Army as an Airborne Infantry Officer, an experience that molded his philosophy on goals and mentoring. He also applied his natural interpersonal skills and MBA to teaching business classes at College of the Sequoias.

However, his career in real estate is where he is able to be coach, mentor, leader and guide for the people he works with and the people in the community he knows so well.
